Clinician, author and lecturer Franck Renouard will be speaking at the ADI Team Congress 2017
One of many celebrated speakers offering information and inspiration from around the world, Franck will consider how a practitioner’s attitude could affect the success of dental implant treatment.
He comments, “When we talk about complications, we often think in terms of two types of technical problem: biomechanical or biological complications. But we never talk about what role our own behaviour might play in the development of these issues. I believe there are two other categories of human-related complications – those involving a conscious infraction and those that result from stress, fatigue and lack of communication among the team, despite the clinician’s best intentions. The second is a problem of how people function. By implementing a ‘human factor’ concept, we can significantly reduce the number and severity of errors we make.
“During my lecture, I will discuss the protocols we can follow to reduce stress and cut down the errors that can waste time and money. I will draw clear comparisons between dentistry and aviation, encouraging delegates to examine non-technical factors in order to enhance their provision of implant treatment.”
