Dental Review continues its brief walk through the BDC and Dentistry Show

COLTENE: Did you upgrade your dentistry?

COLTENE is recognised as a brand that provides dentists with innovative ways to upgrade their dentistry, thanks to its portfolio of restorative, endodontic and general dental solutions.

This year’s Show saw the launch of the new BRILLIANT COMPONEER, a composite materials system for performing chair-side restorations in one session – no laboratory work necessary. The new material was demonstrated by dentist Chris Siddons (top).

He said: “The BRILLIANT COMPONEER system offers better gloss retention over time than other composites, has excellent polishability and stability, and has a range of restoration indications from reconstructing teeth to dealing with carious defects; it can even create aesthetic veneers in just 20 minutes, and fitting just two veneers pays for the whole set.

“It’s the sort of tremendous innovation we’ve come to expect from COLTENE, and we’re never disappointed.”

Visitors also saw the latest addition to the Hyflex EDM file system, the Glidepath file 15/.03, for the preparation of severely curved canals.

TePe: New GOOD Compact toothbrush and GOOD Tongue Cleaner

Leading oral health brand, TePe, has expanded its sustainably produced TePe GOOD™ range with the introduction of the TePe GOOD Compact toothbrush and TePe GOOD Tongue Cleaner the UK’s first bio-plastic tongue cleaner.

They are produced using renewable raw materials, sugar cane and castor oil. This enables TePe to recirculate up to 95% of the CO₂ emissions during the products’ life cycle, offering a more sustainable choice to consumers and the industry, without compromising on product quality, design or hygiene.

As with all TePe products the toothbrush and tongue cleaner are manufactured using 100% green energy at TePe’s Swedish Malmö factory, which has the largest solar power plant in the city.

The new compact toothbrush has been developed in collaboration with dental experts to ensure a high-quality design, featuring an ergonomic handle, tapered head and rounded filaments for maximum cleanliness, making it ideal for children and adults who prefer a smaller brush head.

The tongue cleaner has been designed to remove bacteria from the tongue, helping to prevent bad breath and improve oral health. It corresponds to the natural shape of the tongue, making it easier to reach far back in the mouth, while the slim shape reduces the gag reflex, and with three slightly raised cleaning surfaces for a triple-effect, one stroke should be enough to clean the tongue efficiently.

The TePe GOOD Compact toothbrush and TePe GOOD Tongue Cleaner will be available from the end of May 2019. For orders or more information contact your local dental wholesaler.
