New BDCDS show dates: 25th-26th June 2021

CloserStill Media, organisers of the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show, have taken the decision to postpone the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show (BDCDS). The 2020 event will now take place on Friday 25th and 26th of June 2021 at the Birmingham NEC, hall 5.

Martin Woodrow, Chief Executive of the BDA explained: “The BDA believes that moving the show to June 2021 puts us in a much more comfortable position to run an event that really serves the profession.

“We’re really looking forward to delivering another excellent conference and exhibition this year, where we can all reunite and celebrate the tremendous work dental teams have carried out across the country.”

The event organisers, have been focussing on how they can support the profession as they navigate through the third national lockdown and resume some normality during a very testing time for dentistry.

Alex Harden, Event Director, said: We want to thank all our customers and partners for their support, open discussions and encouragement. As everyone has been reminding us, great things happen when the community comes together and connects at BDCDS. We will be working with our partners to finalize the details and will share more information about our plans in the coming weeks.”

Getting back to in-person learning

A show spokesperson added: “When it is safe to do so, the benefits of hands-on training and in-person learning cannot be beaten. So, don’t miss your chance to develop your skills at the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2021 – on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th June – where you will have access to hours of enhanced CPD and live demonstrations.

“There will be conference streams dedicated to each area of the profession, with world-class speakers sharing their expertise on a wide range of topics. The extensive trade floor will also host a dynamic selection of dental manufacturers and suppliers with innovative technologies and materials to discover."

“For dental technicians who have had a tough time amidst the continuing difficulties faced in the dental profession, there is something to look forward to in 2021 – the Dental Technology Showcase (DTS).

“This will be the perfect place to finally meet up with friends and colleagues from across the industry, all the while learning from world-class technicians and lab owners. There will also be an opportunity to discover the latest innovations in the field, with many designed to help labs enhance and streamline their services so as to accelerate their recovery from the pandemic.”

The DLA needs your support

They continued: “When it is safe to do, we can all look forward to catching up in person once again. Make sure the dates for DTS 2021 are in your diary!
DTS 2021 will once again be presented in collaboration with the Dental laboratories Association (DLA) and will provide a long overdue chance to catch up with friends and colleagues from throughout the profession.

“It will feature hours of educational content, with world-class speakers and various dental suppliers. Until then, the DLA needs your support in its campaign to ensure that dental labs are recognised for their contribution to dentistry and supported in their pandemic recovery.

James Neilson, Director for Policy & Politics at the DLA, said: “It is essential for the DLA to continue lobbying political figures to ensure dental technology receives the support it needs to keep businesses operating. Dental laboratories have a vital role to play in patient care and the wider dental profession – it’s important that they are recognised for this.

“We appreciate that the entire UK economy has faced challenges this year, but the healthcare of thousands of people could be impacted if dental laboratories are forgotten about by Government at such a difficult time.”
