The Dental Review team wishes everyone a safe and sane Christmas
As 2021 begins to fade gently into the rear-view mirror, and before the catastrophic calorie count of Christmas adds a few extra inches to the excess lockdown poundage we already carry, we want to take a moment to thank the people who have supported us over a difficult year.
To the NHS frontline people who have persevered and delivered essential care when political advice has staggered from pillar to post. There have been too many conflicting agendas trying to gain mileage from the current COVID confusion, there has been too much misinformation, and too many conflicting opinions about whether to jab or not to jab.
At a time when we need clear, practical guidance our advisors’ fingers have been pointing in every direction. Instead of a straight path we are offered spaghetti junction under a ‘do as we say not as we do’ regime.
The only agenda that really matters is not about protecting political seats in by-elections, it is not about business, it’s not even about mud-slinging over idiots holding Christmas parties during lockdown in 2020, it’s about protecting the health and welfare of the people who matter – and we all matter – all of us.
The healthcare profession and other service sectors have walked a straight path across the shifting sands of political opinion, they have always put people first. The team here wants to raise a glass to all of you on that front line, from dental nurses to GPs to hospital staff, fire fighters, police officers, and the people at the check-outs in our local supermarkets. Thanks to all of you for maintaining sanity in a crazy world.
Cheers, and here’s to a safer, saner 2022. Merry Christmas, and as Tiny Tim once said, God bless us everyone!
