Invisalign Go Plus European launch on 16th September 2020
Align Technology's European Invisalign Go Plus launch event will take place on Wednesday 16th September 2020. The meeting, curated specifically for general dentists, will follow an interactive digital format and will offer Invisalign doctors an opportunity to hear from a variety of expert speakers.
A spokesperson explained: “Delegates joining the event will have the opportunity to experience the new Invisalign Go Plus system and see first-hand how it enables general dentists to broaden the scope of their treatments.
“The new system offers an up to a 26-stage treatment option to correct anterior and posterior teeth up to, and including, the first molar. Invisalign Go Plus treatment can be easily integrated into the wide range of restorative treatments, offered in dental practices in selected markets across Europe [1].”
Plenary speaker Dr Affan Saghir has been part of a preliminary initiative to treat patients with the Invisalign Go Plus system. He explains: “I have many patients who ask for clear aligner-based orthodontics and opt for anterior alignment, which I correct with the Invisalign Go system.
“The addition of the Invisalign Go Plus system provides me more clinical scope of practice and in particular assists with those cases requiring movement of the first permanent molars to an improved arch form.”
Speakers including Dr Camilla Morrison (UK), Dr Edouard Negre (France), Dr Marco Martignoni (Italy) and Dr Ina Koettgen (Germany) will provide delegates with insights into optimised end-to-end treatment planning and ortho-restorative integration using the latest Invisalign innovations, as well as methods for increasing patient access to treatments.
Attendees will be able to opt-in to instantaneous language translations during the plenary session, and then divide into country-specific break-out groups. Align will also showcase some the latest Invisalign Go features, introduced to further enhance the ClinCheck software, and used as part of Invisalign Go system to create treatment plans for patients.
The five new features enable Invisalign providers to map out patients’ treatment pathways and offer even greater control of each case, down to the smallest movement shift, with enhanced accuracy from the initial digital scan and right through every stage of treatment planning.
Invisalign Go Plus new features:
• 3D Controls with an enhanced 3D visual interface were designed to help providers customize their treatment plans, and instantly review changes to them in real time to improve efficiency and minimize treatment planning time.
• The addition of a Bolton Analysis tool provides calculations of the patients’ tooth width to facilitate a greater insight into tooth proportions and improve aesthetic treatment planning.
• Tooth Movement Table provides tooth movement measurements – from initial to final position.
• Plan History allows visibility of up to three treatment plans in comparison view both of which are designed to simplify treatment planning.
• STL Export facility which makes it possible to export an STL file of the initial file and/or the final outcome position. This has been included to facilitate further Invisalign treatment options which will support the clinician’s efforts to develop comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with their dental laboratory.
Align’s spokesperson added: “The Invisalign system is the world’s most advanced clear aligner system. All clear aligners are not alike, and Invisalign aligners are custom-made for each individual patient using cutting-edge technology.
“The SmartTrack aligner material, SmartForce features and SmartStage technology have been specifically designed to optimise tooth movement control and aligner-patient fit.
“Align has always been at the forefront of innovation in digital orthodontics and dentistry, helping doctors transform their practices using digital tools and technology to deliver great treatment experiences and outcomes to more than eight million people worldwide.
“The company is continually innovating and expanding its end-to-end digital platform – a unique combination of software, systems and services designed to provide a seamless experience and workflow that integrates and connects all users – clinicians, labs, patients, and consumers.
“Align has also introduced the SmileView simulation app and Invisalign Photo Uploader application for case assessment, which helps practitioners make the initial assessment regarding whether a patient can be treated with the Invisalign system.
“Diagnosis and treatment planning have also been digitised, using iTero intraoral scanners and ClinCheck 3D treatment planning software with the In-Face Visualisation functionality. These tools allow dentists to incorporate an image of the patient’s face into the treatment plan. The patient treatment can then be tracked from start to finish using the Appointment Planner and iTero Progress Assessment tools.”
Business and clinical growth
Over the past years, the dental sector has been changing rapidly and while, on average, oral health is improving, the request for aesthetic treatments is growing. Align offers an advanced clear aligner system that allows dentists to complete a wide variety of comprehensive dentistry procedures, tailored to their skillset as they grow in proficiency and confidence.
The spokesperson concludes: “Dentists can be confident that they are using the right treatment for their patients as the company offers both the world’s most advanced clear aligners and digital workflow systems, as well as education and business support to help maximise their clinical and practice development.
